Gardening
green thumb: as long as you treat or get something/one to think it's alive, it'll believe/take it seriously - -> try to stay alive
How do you know what a plant thinks and says?
How to communicate back - to show you care and are there

germination - steps
0) if it's tough - it might need to be scraped on one side to be helped out - this is super rare
1) get a cup with a lid (can be a jar if it has no bend for the opening - as then you can't get your delicate stuff out)
2) spray the inside with water
3) add coconut coir
4) spray again
5) add seeds
6) spray
7) add coir on top
8) spray but less (because it shouldn't be dripping and it's already wet)
9) close the lid
10) wait until it germinates
11) place into wherever you want it to continue to grow

- like - aerogarden
other methods
- sprouting jar
- weird but spitting a seed out (after eating the fruit) and throwing it on the ground (and then watering it) helps it germinate
- reasons
- mouth germs contribute to the soil microbiome
- they create a symbiotic relationship with the plant to help it germinate
- through - nutrients, immunity
- water helps the microbiome grow
- they create a symbiotic relationship with the plant to help it germinate
- saliva is a gel

Rewilding
- rule of thumb - leave nature alone
- allow native plants -> come in on their own
- esp - if they restore soil
- legumes - >nitrogen
- process - nitrogen fixation
- esp - before modifying -> nat
- legumes - >nitrogen

- obviously - be vegan
- livestock
- utilize - monocultures
- disrupt - nat

- ID - plants
- been working on - edible plants database
- for - that
- parts - their role
- -> - utilize them
- know - what to - keep, displace
- not - kill plants
- time - ever
- types - ripping out, toxic chemical (i.e. herbicides), fire burning, etc.
- instead - bring in new plants
- that - >competition
- type - last resort
- reasons
- nature can take care of itself
- all we can do - is help it along
- >resources
- we don't know what we're doing
- compared - -> nat
- nature can take care of itself
- reasons
- not - kill plants
- for - purposes
- esp - eating, fertilizing, etc.
- not - villainize them
- there's no such thing as a 'weed'
- weed, pest, etc. - are demonizing terms
- -> - label - -> put animals down
- look at them as inferior
- rather than treat them as the beautiful beings that they are
- if anyone - we're the pest
- not - them
- if anyone - we're the pest
- which is - bullying

Fresh burying > compost
- food waste
- the bacteria from your mouth from eating food and putting it on top of the soil along with the food
- provides nutrients, microbes, enzymes, etc.
- -> - help break down food, >bioactivity
- that - helps plant
